Dousousei ~ Hito wa, Sando, Koi o Suru subtitles

As promised, here are the subtitles for the first episode of Dousousei ~ Hito wa, Sando, Koi wo Suru (Classmates ~ People Love Three Times). This is a romance drama featuring four characters at the age of 40 who were junior high school classmates. I won't tell you much more, but I think it promises a lot of intrigue and will-they-or-won't-they moments. We shall see! I'm really loving these adult love stories. I don't mean "adult" as in indecent, just as in "over 30," haha :)  High school romances are a dime a dozen, but I find these refreshing. Anyhow, I'll stop rambling so you can get to....

Episode 1

You may notice that I've started going through Adfly. If you don't like the extra click, sorry. I made this decision after what happened with my last subtitles, where other people were making money off of my hard work. Since it's impossible to prevent this from happening unless I do hard subs (which I don't want to do at this point), I've decided to change the download method slightly. Hope y'all understand.

これからもよろしくね。

Otto no Kanojo 1-8 English subs

Small update. Subtitles for Otto no Kanojo 1-8 now available in a zip file here

Canceled project, new project

Well, it seems someone else is already 90% of the way through Jishaku Otoko, so I am dropping this project. I'm glad to see there is interest in a Mukai Osamu SP, though. I like his work :)

Instead, I am planning to pick up a summer series that will be starting soon, Dousousei ~ Hito wa, sando, koi o suru. The official website for this series can be found here: http://www.tbs.co.jp/dousousei2014/
The story centers around four 40-year-olds who met as classmates at age 15. Looks like there will be some drama, romance, and intrigue... stay tuned!

New sub project: Jishaku Otoko

It's been a while since I've done any subs, but I've started translating a recent SP, Jishaku Otoko （磁石男）, starring Mukai Osamu.

Info (in English) on this SP can be found here: Jdrama Weblog: Jishaku Otoko

Updates to be posted soon.

Otto no Kanojo English subtitles COMPLETE!

Thanks for your patience, everyone. I had intended to get the subs for the last episode up sooner, but, you know, life happens :)  They are up now at the usual place, so enjoy! I hope you all enjoyed this one as much as I did. I wish we could have seen what the writers originally intended, but I think it was a really decent series overall, and definitely underrated. Personally, I like series like this more than the myriad detective dramas out there right now, but of course networks have to aim for what sells. Fingers crossed there will be another funny, light one like this next season!
